Senior Choir was organized. Rev. George Ernest Goode served as Superintendent of the Sunday School.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\">1920<\/span><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 &#8211; <span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Missionary society was organized by Sis. Elizabeth Dean and Sis. Hattie Carter<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\">1956<\/span><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 &#8211; <span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Senior Usher board was organized by Bro. Tabe Goode.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0Late<\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\"> 1950&#8217;s<\/span><\/strong> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sis. Effie Dean organized the Junior Usher Board<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>1964<\/strong><\/span><\/span>\u00a0 &#8211;<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> The Gospel Chorus was organized by Sis. Susie (Wim) Carter<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a01967<\/span><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211;<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> The Youth Choir was organized by Dea. Prelo Moore. The Willing Workers Club was organized by Sis. Elizabeth R. Davis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Early<\/span> <strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">1970&#8217;s<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Started having service twice a month &#8211; 2nd Sunday morning and 4th Sunday evening<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\">1972<\/span><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; <span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Young Adult Choir was organized by Bro. H. Stanley Lagroon and others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a01974<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Final plans were made for new church building &#8211; Dea. Robert C. Moore chairman of the Building Committee and Building Fund Treasurer<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>1976<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Construction of now church completed and first service held. The Deaconess Board was organized by Sis. Mattie C. Boozer.\u00a0 The Junior Deacon Board was organized by Bro. H. Stanley Lagroon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>1980<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211;<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Annual Vacation Bible School was organized by Sis. Daisy Moore.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>\u00a01981\u00a0<\/strong><\/span> &#8211; \u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Developed program for Children&#8217;s Meditation during Sunday Morning Worship.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>1984<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; <span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Pulpit Aide Society was reorganized.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>1985<\/strong><\/span><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; <span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Young Women Auxiliary was organized by Sis. Roslyn Carroll.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>\u00a01986<\/strong><\/span><\/span>\u00a0 &#8211; \u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Liquidated Church Mortgage for the 1976 New Church Building.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>\u00a01987\u00a0<\/strong><\/span> &#8211; \u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\">First Exchange Worship between St. Luke Presbyterian Church, Orangeburg, SC and Old Mt. Zion.\u00a0 First Annual Christmas Morning Worship.\u00a0 Purchased first church van.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>1988<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211;<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> First Christmas Candlelight and Caroling Fellowship Worship. Initiated Youth Leadership of the morning worship each fourth Sunday.\u00a0\u00a0 Purchased first church Grand Piano.\u00a0 Paved Church&#8217;s Parking Lot<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>1989<\/strong><\/span><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211;<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Sponsored Black History Quiz Bowl.\u00a0 Organized First Read through the Bible Group.\u00a0 First Annual Christmas Fellowship Dinner.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>1990<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Second Christmas Candlelight and Caroling Fellowship Worship.\u00a0 First Annual Camp Fellowship and Church Picnic. Reorganized Sunday School and named Sis. Daisy Moore Superintendent.\u00a0 Installed new Public Address System.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>1992<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211;<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Brotherhood was organized by Dea. Robert Moore.\u00a0 First Female Trustees Elected Sis. Patricia Kimble and Sis. London Thomas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>1992-1993<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211;<span style=\"color: #000000;\">The late Rev. Harold Stith served as Interim Pastor<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\">1993\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong> &#8211; \u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\">A painting was done inside of the church.\u00a0 Missionary Society installed Baptism Pool and New Draperies.\u00a0 Alarm System was installed in the church.\u00a0 Siding was placed on the outside of the church.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>1993-1994<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Rev. Gardner Creecy served as Pastor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>1994-1995<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 &#8211; \u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Rev. Clyde D. Cannon served as Interim Pastor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>1994<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; <span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Missionary Society presented Bibles to the church.\u00a0 Program Commemorating Dr. Benjamin E. Mays. Computer and Software purchased for the church. Dea. Arthur Brunson resigns from Chairman of the Deacon Board due to Health Problems. He served for twenty-three years. Dea. Robert Moore was elected as Chairman.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>\u00a01994<\/strong><\/span><\/span>\u00a0 &#8211; \u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Rev. Clyde D. Cannon was installed as the 12th Pastor of Old Mt. Zion.\u00a0 All Male Choir was organized under the leadership of Bro. James Stewart<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>\u00a01998\u00a0<\/strong><\/span> &#8211; <span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0Incorporated by State of South Carolina as Non Profit Corporation Church Endowment Fund started by Board of Trustees Hired Musician Jeremy Blocker as Drummer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>1999\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0&#8211;\u00a0 \u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Awning Installation Completed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a02000<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8211; Reorganize Sunday School with four Co-Superintendents.\u00a0 Church purchased Copier.\u00a0 Mission Fund purchased school supplies for Matthews and East End Elementary Schools.\u00a0 Millennium Celebration organized by Sis. Vivian Archie. Oldest member present was Sis. Juanita Griffin. Youngest member present was Tasha Carters son.\u00a0 Y2K Emergency Supplies was donated to families.\u00a0 Appointed Nursery Supervision Assistance under the Leadership of Sis. Glorietta Jones.\u00a0 Completed our pledge to the O. R. Ruben Chapel or Special Fund total of $5,000. This chapel is located on Morris College Campus.\u00a0 The Birthday Month Ministry organized by Pastor Cannon.\u00a0 The Congregational Nurse Program organized by Self Memorial Hospital, Mrs. Mary Crouch. The RN provided health screenings at affiliated churches &#8212; Antioch, Mt. Olive, Mt. Pisgah and Old Mt. Zion.\u00a0 Parking Lot repaved. Handicap signs placed for special parking.\u00a0 Inspirational Choir organized by Sis. Debra Johnson, Sis. Gwendolyn Gray, and Bro.
